One of the best ways to learn how to journal is to read other people's journals. Online journals are especially easy to access, because so many web sites contain at least one blog or more. How do you find the right journals to read? Well, you can search via Google for topics of your choice. For example, if you are a writer, you can plug in the phrase "writing blogs" and Google will return several entries for you to surf. You can continue to refine your search, until you've found the genres that you are most interested in reading. If you like politics, especially during this election season, you will be able to find more than enough blogs to read. If you are a writer then you do need to read. You need to read in your genre, as well as outside of your genre. It's important to keep up with the trends in your areas of writing interest. It works the same way with blogging or journaling. Keep up with your blog reading using RSS feeds or subscription by email. Otherwise it will take quite a bit of your time, to visit each blog and read it individually. I only visit blogs individually when I have some free time or when I want to look up a specific entry, that I've scanned from reading my RSS feeds. I use Google Reader, to help me organize my RSS feeds. There are other readers that you can use as well. You can check them out, via a quick internet search. Choose one and try it out. Some people prefer to read using the RSS feeds and others prefer to read by email subscription. Try both out and see which one works best for you. Keep on reading and blogging!
